Why is planning important?  The fact is that only ten percent of caregivers have planned sufficiently for their dependent’s future. Many people are unaware that there is a federal law that states, if you leave a person with special needs over $2,000, he or she will automatically lose eligibility for most government benefits. That is a federal law; each state has its own limits.
